Google (Places API), Facebook (Graph API), Yelp (Fusion API), WooCommerce product reviews and WordPress.org plugin or theme reviews, each on your own free API credentials. Everything else imports via CSV or JSON, and the built-in funnel collects first-party reviews directly on your site.
Those tools scrape platforms server-side, which is exactly why your reviews have to flow through their infrastructure. A self-hosted plugin can only promise what platform APIs actually allow. So: five live integrations, a universal importer for everything else, and your own collection funnel that reduces the dependency over time.
Per request, yes, and that is Google's limit rather than ours. Range Trust stores everything it sees and never deletes, so your local library grows with every sync. You can also bulk-import your full Google history once via CSV and let syncing keep it current.
Yes. Widgets are plain server-rendered markup, so they cache like the rest of the page and cost nothing on a repeat visit. Reviews refresh when your cache does, or when a sync runs.
Range Trust emits correct schema.org AggregateRating and Review markup and integrates with Yoast, Rank Math and SEOPress. Whether Google shows stars is always Google's call, and anyone guaranteeing rich results is overpromising.

Yes, by default and by design. Every customer can always reach your public review platforms, and "smart" routing only changes which option is emphasised. Gating that hides public links from unhappy customers violates Google's policies, and the documentation says so in bold.
