The review funnel
The funnel is a page on your site where a customer picks a star rating and is then guided to leave a review: on Google, Facebook, or any platform you link, or directly on your site as a first-party review. It is where invitation emails, QR codes and NFC tags all point.
Setting up
- Create a page containing the shortcode
[range_trust_collect]. - On Range Trust → Collect, select that page as the Funnel page.
- Add your platform links: label + URL pairs, e.g. Google → your
g.page/r/…/reviewlink. - Adjust the wording (title, intro, asks, thanks) to your voice.
The Share panel then shows the funnel URL, a copyable link and a QR code (SVG; right-click to save it, then print it on receipts or table cards). The same URL written to an NFC tag gives you tap-to-review.
Routing modes
- Show everything to everyone (default): every rating sees the platform links and the on-site form.
- Smart emphasis: ratings at or above your threshold see the platform links first; lower ratings see the private feedback form first.
On review gating: Google's policies prohibit soliciting reviews only from happy customers. Range Trust's smart mode never withholds the platform links from anyone: every customer at every rating can still post publicly; only the emphasis changes. Blocking unhappy customers from public platforms is both against policy and, frankly, obvious to readers. The default mode is the conservative choice.
First-party reviews
Reviews submitted on the form are stored under the Collected on this site source. By default they arrive as pending and wait on the Reviews tab for approval (untick Hold submissions for moderation to publish immediately). A customer who chose the private path is stored as private: never displayed, visible only in wp-admin.
Set a Notify email to get each submission by mail. Submissions are throttled per IP and honeypotted against bots.
First-party reviews display in widgets like any other source; many sites run a "reviews from our customers" widget entirely from the funnel.
