Yelp reviews

Range Trust reads your Yelp business profile through the Yelp Fusion API with your own (free) API key.

Get a Fusion API key

  1. Sign in at yelp.com/developers and create an app.
  2. Copy the API Key it issues.

Find your business alias

It is the slug in your Yelp URL: for yelp.com/biz/the-fat-duck-bray, the alias is the-fat-duck-bray. The numeric business ID works too.

Enter both on Sources → Add a source → Yelp. The key can also live site-wide in Settings → Yelp Fusion API key.

Excerpts, and the three-review window

Yelp's API returns up to three of the most recent reviews per request, each as an excerpt (roughly the first 160 characters) with a link to the full review on Yelp. That is an API limit, not a plugin one. Range Trust:

  • stores every excerpt it sees, accumulating past three over time;
  • keeps the Read on Yelp link on each card, which the excerpt format is designed for;
  • takes the aggregate rating and total count from your business profile, so headers show the real numbers.

If you want full historical text, import it once from any export you have.
