WordPress.org reviews

If you publish a plugin or theme on WordPress.org, Range Trust can show its reviews on your own site. Useful for plugin authors' sales pages.

Connect

On Sources → Add a source, choose WordPress.org and enter:

  • the slug from the wordpress.org URL (for wordpress.org/plugins/woocommerce/, the slug is woocommerce), and
  • whether it is a plugin or a theme.

No key or account is needed; both endpoints are public.

What sync fetches

Two things, from two places:

  1. The aggregate: rating and total count from the official info API. WordPress.org reports ratings as a percentage; Range Trust converts to the usual out-of-five figure shown in widget headers.
  2. Recent reviews: from the support-forum review feed: title, author, date and text. Star ratings are not included in the feed itself, so each review's topic page is checked for one; a review whose rating cannot be determined still imports as text.

As with other platforms, reviews accumulate across syncs, so the library deepens over time even though the feed only covers recent activity.
