Widgets

A widget is a saved display: a layout, a style, and a filter describing which reviews it shows. You create as many as you like (a homepage slider, a per-location grid, a checkout badge) and embed each anywhere with its shortcode or block.

Creating and editing

Range Trust → Widgets → New widget opens the editor: settings on the left, a live preview on the right that re-renders as you change things.

Layout & style

Pick one of the ten layouts and eight style presets, set the column count (grid, masonry, slider), and override the accent and star colours per widget if the defaults don't suit the page.

Which reviews

  • Sources: tick any combination; none ticked means all sources, which is how you mix Google + Facebook + imports in one widget.
  • Minimum rating: the usual choice is 4+; Any shows everything published.
  • Max reviews and Order: newest, oldest, highest, lowest or random.
  • Language filter: a BCP-47 prefix (en matches en-AU and en-GB); empty shows every language.
  • Skip reviews without text: on by default; star-only ratings still count toward the header aggregate either way.

Tag filtering is also part of the widget settings (tag reviews on the Reviews screen, then pass tags="featured" through the shortcode or set it via the range_trust_widget_defaults filter).

Elements

Toggle the header (aggregate rating), avatars, dates (relative, absolute or hidden), platform labels, owner replies, links to the original review, name anonymisation ("Jane S."), autoplay and lazy rendering. Set optional header text, text truncation length, and a CTA button (text + URL; the URL defaults to the first source's profile URL).

SEO & AI

Per-widget schema.org markup and the AI summary are covered in SEO and AI.

Managing

The Widgets list shows each widget's shortcode (click to copy). Duplicate copies a widget for variations; Delete removes it (embedded shortcodes then render nothing).

Moderation happens on the Reviews tab: hide or publish individual reviews, delete, tag, and approve pending funnel submissions. Hidden reviews never appear in widgets but still count in the source's profile figures.
